9to5 Mac reports that FiftyThree has revealed a new gold-brushed and anodized version of its popular Bluetooth “Pencil” stylus for iPad. This follows on from Pencil’s recent addition to the accessories range in Apple’s retail stores.
Most likely the new version has been released to match the gold colour of the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, both of which come in snazzy gold versions.
The Gold version of the stylus, while looking a little more opulent than the regular Walnut version, will have the same retail price of $59.95.
FiftyThree’s Pencil stylus was launched over a year ago, with its novel carpenter’s pencil design. It can pair with your iPad via Bluetooth to activate smart features in various apps, such as FiftyThree’s own Paper iPad app, a free app that is great for note-taking and sketching.
Other apps that Pencil’s enhanced features are compatible with include Procreate, Noteshelf, Sketchbook and Mobile Mouse. More apps will be supported in future, according to FiftyThree.
