A settlement called "Nothing" exists since 1977 in Arizona. It has no inhabitant.

    The town sign reads:
... The staunch citizens of Nothing are full of Hope, Faith and Believe in the work ethic. Thru the years these dedicated people had faith in Nothing, hoped for Nothing, worked at Nothing, for Nothing.

There are over 2.5 million tombs in Vienna's Central Cemetery (Zentralfriedhof) - including those of Beethoven, Brahms, Gluck, Schubert and Strauss -, more than the city's live population (~ 1.8 million people).

The final Krakatoa eruption in 1883 was so powerful that it was recorded on barographs all over the world. It was still registered up to 5 days afterwards. The shock wave from that explosion reverberated around the globe 7 times.

In Czech, the symbol @ is called zavináč, which means pickled herring or rollmops, obviously because of it's visual appearance.
