Hi and welcome to the Forum!

When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly, let us know how you go.

Please do not post twice on your issue as it divides the information given and makes it confusing for members to follow. It is also against our Forum Rules, your other post has now been deleted.

Have you activated it in Settings - Facetime? And filled in details here? And also set up your notifications?

Yes the Help Forum is the best place for this and all good now.

Have you tried deleting the app then re-installing it and setting up the account again?

How about restoring your iPad to factory settings, after making a backup, then setting it up from your backup?

No you can't delete as its a native app...but try a reset here. This will not change anything on your iPad and is just like rebooting a PC.

Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start.

Also what OS is your iPad on? If you have updated your apps but not your iPad, you can have problems here.
Look in Settings - General - about and look for version. Let us know how you go.

I agree, try the reset first, before taking more drastic measures.
