Facebook problem

i put my mobile phone number on Facebook profile and since then it keeps sending me messages on my phone. I have tried to delete the phone number but can't see anyway to do this. It lets you edit other things but not the phone number.
Help please

Login to Facebook through a browser. Then tap at the upper right, to find Settings:

In Settings, tap "Mobile". You'll find your phone number, and next to it "Verified" and "Remove". Tap Remove:

Confirm your intention, and Facebook will delete the mobile phone number.
