Great news for F1 fans today, not only is the glamorous Monaco Grand Prix taking place this weekend, with practice sessions kicking off today, but also Codemasters has released its free-to-play arcade racing game, F1 Race Stars, in the App Store.

The full-featured arcade racing game brings console quality gameplay, graphics and depth to iOS, and has been fully optimised for Apple’s latest A7 chip-powered devices.

F1 fans really love absorbing every detail about their sport and demand authenticity, so it's great to see that F1 Race Stars fully caters to its audience, featuring all the officially licensed cars, teams and drivers from the 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship, for the first time ever on iOS.

In the game, players get the chance to take on over 40 tracks from 15 Formula 1 Grand Prix locations around the world, each of which has been designed with quick-fire mobile gaming in mind. Gameplay features jumps, shortcuts and lots of powerups, such as Wet Weather, Homing Bubbles, Safety Car and more.

The single-player game features five different game modes, with players getting to compete against Formula One starts such as Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, or even race as a fantasy driver with unique special abilities, such as Robot, Ninja, and Secret Agent. Players can also collect and combine hundreds of upgrades to improve their on-track performance.

Aside from the single-player game, there’s also a local multiplayer feature for two players via Bluetooth, and up to four players via Wi-Fi.
