The iPad is a wonderful tool for education, and we’ve even seen it used by kids to learn programming. To bank on the possibilities that the iPad offers, Coursera, one of the best-known providers of massive open online courses, has finally released an iPad application which comes loaded with over 600 courses on various topics such as finance, psychology, mathematics, music, medicine and others. The iPhone app has been available for a while now but the iPad is obviously better suited for education purposes, as it comes with a bigger screen size, essential with this type of apps.
The iPad app comes with course browsing, searching, enrolling; the ability to view your personal course dashboard, video downloading and streaming. The iPad app also comes with educational quizzes, so you will be able to assess how much you’ve learned in a fun way. The new Coursera app for iPad has a nice feature that favors learners on the go as it allows to download courses for offline viewing.
The courses are being taught by top instructors, being available in 12 languages including English, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Russian. You can also choose to receive push notifications when an enrolled course is about to start. Would you be interested in learning new things from the comfort of your iPad?
