Ebay Ipad and Apple Warranty

Hi guys.....I've purchased a 2 month old ipad off of ebay. Can someone tell me how the warranty works. I know there is a year hardware warranty, but how does Apple know when to start that year? Do they need a receipt or does that year begin when the ipad is registered for the first time?

Since you bought it used, you are probably out of luck!

From the Apple website --

Apple, as defined in the table below, warrants this Apple-branded hardware product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser.

Yup....looks like I am. I'm going to think positively.....it's gonna work perfectly for a long...long time!!
