Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!
Don't worry, I'm sure you're not the oldest iPad Forum member. We had a member who celebrated her 100th birthday last Saturday. I saw your problem and the steps you've taken to try to fix the problem. So let's go through things gently.
You say you have WiFi working OK. A couple of questions. Do you have any other devices in your house that use WiFi - i.e. maybe a PC or something like that - and can they access the Internet using that WiFi connection. I'm trying to work out whether the problem is that your iPad can't connect 'properly' to your WiFi or whether it's the WiFi router that can't connect to the Internet. If you look at the top line of the iPad screen, can you see the WiFi signal 'fan' there - it's a little icon shaped a bit like one of those Japanese or Chinese fans and indicates the signal strength of the wireless signal. If you can see it, how many circular bars are there? (this will tell us how strong the signal is). Get back to us and we'll help you through this..we want you to enjoy your iPad and have fun...
Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.
Have fun and enjoy your iPad
If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.
