Go into Game Center itself and add from there. You can then use their Game Center nicknames.

Hi I'm new to this game lv10 trying to figure out how to gift my friend. Only have one right now as I'm trying to figure this game out and what goes where. It seems you give a gem to a person and you get one? Love raising the little guys.
