Downloading Kindle app

I would like to know if anyone else is having problems getting access to the Kindle app. Amazon says it is available in all countries where iPad is officially sold but I am to locate the app in the Malaysia store. In the Apps Store, the message says it can't fulfill the request; and in iTunes it says it is not available in Malaysia. Yet in all the previous news releases both Apple and Google say it is available globally. Thanks. Stephen

Many of the eBook apps are being updated after Apple insisted the 'Visit Store' buttons were removed. You'll see quite a lot of posts about this today on iPad Forum. So it's almost certainly a temporary problem while the app is updated. Several other eBook apps are affected too.

I believe someone else (quite a while back) said the Kindle app was not available in the Malaysia store. It probably has to do with copyright, local law, or some other obscure business reason from Amazon's point of view. Globally, unfortunately, does not appear to mean everywhere.
