Done silly things with my ID

Hello all - I'm the proud possessor of an iPad which was given to me for my birthday.  Lucky me. Already I've messed up and need help. I changed my ID and password and now I can't access my app Store/iTunes etc. because they are registered under my first ID name and they won't respond to my original password. I live 120 miles from the nearest Apple store I feel so stupid and helpless (and very guilty) Please can someone help me?

On the iPad, in the App Store app - did you try logging out of the store and then logging back in with your new info?

There's a button to access your account on virtually any one of the tabs in the store. It's on the bottom left (starts with "Apple ID:"). Pressing on it gives you an option to log out... You can also access the store settings in your Settings app.
