Do all current apps work on the 1st generatoin Ipad

I want to get an Ipad 1Gen for my son. He loves my Ipad3, but cannot afford to get him an Ipad3.
Do all current apps work on the 1st generatoin Ipad?

My brother has ipad1 and I have ipad2 all applications are running in both but in ipad1 there is no camera, so any video function will not work. I suggest that your son will not be happy without camera. Get ipad2 for him or get chines one.

Yes if you can afford it I would get a 2 as well, there are some great deals to be had right now too. iPad 1's have only 256mb of ram the 2 has 512mb and the new iPad 1gb. All apps will run on the 1 now but as all apps are only getting bigger, down the line at some point the 1 will struggle with these. So an ipad2 makes more sense at this point, especially for a boy who will want to play all those games that have a lot of graphics in them. Hope this helps.
