displaypad app, your thoughts?

I recently downloaded the displaypad app, allowing you to use your iPad as an accessory screen to my MacBook. It seems unless I have an amazing wifi connection it doesn't work so great.

Anyone having good experiences with this app?

displaypad has worked well until recently. Now only about half of the iPad screen responds when displaypad is activated. I emailed the problem to the app company 24 hours ago, but so far no response.
