Disney Publishing launches a sweet-looking Toy Story 3 read-along iPad app today just ahead of the movie coming out this Friday. The app features Woody, Buzz, their pals, and a whole host of new toys, in a fully interactive reading experience packed with 3D effects, exciting games, sing-along tunes from the movie, multi-touch surprises, puzzles, and colouring pages. Free 3D glasses are available at Disney Stores in the United States and Canada so that you can enjoy the effects to the fullest. Children can listen to the story as it’s read to them, record their own narration, or explore at their own pace. There’s also a “Younger Reading Mode†that simplifies page turning for really young children.

Some of the featured games include Hang Glider, where kids can watch Woody fly above the town and help him to safety, and Falling with Style where you get to have a blast with Buzz.
There’s even an interactive colouring feature which lets children finger-paint on the iPad’s screen. Just as long as they don’t use real paint!

You can download the iPad Toy Story 3 app for $8.99, which includes a one-month free subscription to disneydigitalbooks.com.
