Deleting photos

I downloaded photos and need to delete half. I checked the ones to delete but the red delete does not do anything. what do I do? Thanks JLT

If the photos were downloaded and synch'd via iTunes, then you cannot delete them directly on the iPad. You need to delete them from the PC first and then resync. Only photos that are on your iPad that were not transferred there with iTunes (received as email attachments, downloaded from the web etc) can be deleted directly.
