Hi all
I am travelling overseas at the moment
Whilst having some down i have been trying to delete photos from my ipad , which i have over 8000 of
A lot of them are doubles and triples
I have tried all the options such as go to photos tab press far right tab, select photos and press delete, howerver when i select the photos the delete button does not highlight it stays a dull red,
Is ther a setting which i should enadle or disable or is there any other trick i should be doing???

Very frustrated:rolleyes::thumbsdown:

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly. Let us know if this solves your problem.

If you have a lot of photos to delete a trick is putting 2 fingers on a photo and then slide your fingers across the photos to delete. This will tick all the photos instead of pressing each one individually.

Hey,
Go to the Photos app, press the icon in the right, that one with the arrow thing, press every picture you want to delete and the press the delete button.
Have you tried turning off and on the iPad ? If that doesn't work, and you have a jailbroken device try using iCleaner maybe there's some corrupted cache or something.

Hi Fab4571 - welcome to the forum! :)

You need to tell us 'where' these 8K photos reside in your native Photo App (and I'm assuming that you have the 'stock' iPad?) - images in your 'Camera Roll' (those taken by the iPad camera, downloaded, or placed there in another fashion) can be removed as you and others have described. Albums made w/i the app containing pics from other albums or the camera roll can also be deleted (note that only 'links' are created w/i this particular albums). NOW, if many of your photos were loaded onto the iPad from an iTunes sync, then these cannot be removed from wi/i the iPad app; this must be done w/ another sync - please do a search, there have been numerous threads and posts related to the frustration using this particular app. Good luck and let us know you progress!
