Deleting mail from server problem

Although I sometimes read my mail on iPad, If I delete from it, it is also deleted from my server. I'd like to have a copy of it remain on the server so that it can be moved into various folders that I've made on my PC. Is there a setting that I can change to accomplish that?

set it so it archives them?

Go to settings, then mail, click on you email account, scroll down to advanced, click on it and on the next screen tell it to delete from server "never".
