Welcome to the iPad forums I'm sorry it was a damaged iPad that brought you here.

Did you purchase AppleCare + when you bought the iPad? If you did, it covers up to two incidents of accidental damage over the two year life of the plan. The cost in this case is $49.00 for each incident. If you don't have AppleCare, the standard warranty does not cover accidental damage. You can expect to pay $20.00 or more for a repair at the Apple store. If you decide to go that route, back up your iPad before taking it in as after you pay the repair cost, you will receive a refurbished iPad in exchange for your damaged one. When you get home, set up the replacement iPad from the backup you made.
If you have the iPad repaired anywhere but an authorized service center, your warranty will be voided.

The best solution we have for fixing a broken iPad is to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your nearest Apple Store....you will not need your receipt as they can look up all relevant info at the store. They will most probably offer to replace your iPad but for a cost...it's normally half of the original cost of the iPad. If this is fine by you, make sure you do a complete backup of your iPad before you go.

There are other businesses that can do this for you which will probably be cheaper but be aware that this will void your warranty, but then again your warranty would already be voided because of the drop. If you do replace with Apple, your warranty is reinstated. I have also heard many members who have gone the cheaper route then find that their WiFi will not work as this has been damaged by the replacing of the screen.

In addition, you can also contact Apple customer service. Here are some great web sites to aid you in your repair search:

Contact Info:
http://www.apple.com/contact/

Apple Support:

Check for Warranty:

If you don't live in the USA, here is a link whereby you can select your country and then be directed to the Apple site for your country:

http://www.apple.com/choose-your-country/

We are not affiliated with Apple (other than sharing our enthusiasm for the iPad) - all we can do to help you is to point you in the direction of these links.

As this is all we can do to help, this thread is closed.

Good luck and thank you for your understanding.
