Most Members have found that Apple have an unofficial once-in-a-lifetime, we'll deny it if you ask us, totally unacknowledged replace a damaged iPad once even if it's not Apple's fault. So go to the Apple Store, be humble, be polite, be deferential and explain in all truth what happened. You might need to speak (nicely) to the Manager as some shop front personnel don't know about this. Don't suggest it yourself, let the Manager do the suggesting...and, remember, it's at their discretion.
