Connector problem

I Recently bought a replacement ipad2 unit as my original iPad2 developed a hardware fault. However, my original connecter for the charger is almost impossibly tight to insert into the dock. I am afraid that over time this may cause damage. Has anyone else had this problem?

This is fairly common for a new iPad. The connector will loosen up with use. Just be careful not to force it in the wrong way because you're expecting the resistance.
