I bought an iPad 4 last week and it came with a power plug that is different than that of my iPhone 5. My question is, is it safe to use the iPhone 5 power plug and USB cord to charge my iPad 4 or should I stick with the one that came with the iPad? It would be a lot easier to just use one cord and plug for both the iPhone and iPad but I don't want to damage my new iPad.

While it is perfectly safe to charge your iPad with your iPhone charger, the iPhone charger doesn't supply the same power as the iPad charger and will take much longer to charge your iPad. http://store.apple.com/ca/question/...e-charger-to-charge-my-ipad/Q479DK9X4TKU22DC7

Thank you very much for that info. It sounds safe, but the slower charge rate is going to impact my lack of patience, lol. I'll just stick to using the native iPad charger.

You can also use your iPad charger to charge your iPhone. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5041204?start=0&tstart=0

Looks like I can use the iPad charger for both, this alleviates swapping plugs in a room where only one wall socket is available. Thank you!

I was unaware that Apple had a discussions section on their site.. bookmarked :)
