Changing modem password

Hi
Could anyone advise me how to change my modem password please?
I have the new iPod and have a Thomson TG585v8 modem which was set-up by the installer and I need to change my password.
I have downloaded the manual to get the information to do this but cannot get to grips with it.
This might be a long complicated procedure but it seems the first thing I need to do is 'browse to the Thomson Gateway GUI', could anyone please explain what this means?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you're refering to this instruction:
Browse to http://dsldevice.lan or to the IP address of your Thomson Gateway (by default: 192.168.1.254)
Then open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, or another browser you use) .
Highlight the address of your home page in the address bar and then type in (without the quotation marks) either "http://dsldevice.lan" or "192.168.1.254".
You should be directed to your gateway's user interface.

If you have the manual, you can just click on the hyperlink in it (http://dsldevice.lan).
