Another question, Marilyn... Do you know how to change the page orientation in Pages from portrait to landscape?

Sorry, but I don't have Pages. And, a Google search of "pages" and "orientation" is too vague to help me help you find an answer.

So, I've moved this second question of yours to its own post in this help section. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to assist.

Sorry and good luck.

Marilyn

Am I missing something, but don't you just swivel the IPad round in the usual way?

I don't think so - I tried that - and it didn't change the document orientation.

Documents in Pages for the iPad are limited to either US Letter (8.5 x 11) or A4 (8.27 x 11.69) although you can create custom sizes within those dimensions by tapping on the Tools link (small wrench icon at the top-right) and dragging the borders to whatever size you need.

Unfortunately Pages for the iPad doesn't allow for adjusting the orientation from portrait to landscape. That said, the workaround is to transfer a file that's already in landscape orientation. Then make a copy and delete the content and keep a blank landscape page in your transfer file.

You can transfer files to/from your iPad in iTunes.

When the page is done loading, tap in the center of the screen. You should see an Open in Pages button at the top right. If not then there should be an Open In... button which will offer other compatible apps.

I've filed that info away for when I need it. I didn't understand the problem at first.
