Cannot get mail the connection to the server failed iPad3

Hi everyone

I suspect this has been posted before but on my new iPad 3 I get this continuously on the email program. Yet while it
says it the emails still come in and go out.

I have tried going onto airplane mode which someone suggested but it didn't help.
I have tried holding down the on button and deleting the app and rebooting but it didn't help.

Any hints?

Your mail server may be down or have problems try a different Internet connection you could also reboot the modem router

Hi - problem is its been saying it since I got it a month ago and my emails are sending and receiving normally in spite of the error message
