Cannot backup ipad on itune...

Dear all, I just want to perform update to my iPad, however, when the backup in progress, my MacBook stop working and ask me to long press the power bottom to reset. After that, I cannot backup my iPad again and of course, cannot update as well, anyone here can help me? Thx a lot.

What does it do when you plug the iPad into the MacBook? Details, error messages, whatever would help determine what is going on.
