    Hi all,

I'm a self employed plumbing and heating engineer and want to use my Ipad for everything business related. Does anyone do the same? If so what apps do you use to organise your business?

    Thanks

    Chris

Hi Chris - welcome to the forum! :) Not sure that I can help immediately but there are plenty of 'business apps' for the iPad (just visit the app store & search for those terms) - NOW our local HVAC/Plumbing service just installed a new AC for our house - the installer had an iPad - he was able to 'dock' a credit card reader and I could sign on the iPad screen w/ a stylus (or my finger), so there seems to be software that would be quite specific for that purpose - did not ask what it was? But, we're in Winston-Salem NC and the company is Gwyn (website HERE) - guess that you could give them a call and talk to someone their about there 'app' - good luck and let us know your results - Dave

P.S. Well, not sure where you are located - hope my link is useful if you're in the USA?

Whilst I am not in business I found FormConnect Pro really great for setting up forms (I wanted something that I could use to create a checklist for house-hunting when viewing properties.

I created a multi-page form that I could instantly add camera pics to, a series of check boxes for use as an aide-memoire and several fields I could complete with text or simply complete with a signature.

The Pro version also lets you create invoices and can calculate totals for you.

If I was a Plumber I could see me using it for ...
    1. Creating a Customer Enquiry Sheet
    2. Collating data such as photos of the problem in a Fault Sheet as proof for customers
    3. Creating an Estimate
    4. Using. a Job Sheet to record work done (this could be a tick list to include safety checks), record parts used/hours worked etc and, again photographic evidence of condition the job was left in
    5. Creating invoices

All of the above could include your logo and can be completed on-site on your IPad. Certainly worth a peek ....

Below are a couple of screen grabs from a couple of different pages from my Form ..... doddle to create them. If I can do it, anyone can!!!!!

Excellent help thank you. Will definitely take a look at both apps. Really appreciate the screen shots and thought you've out into your reply.

Least I could do after the help I've received from fellow users on here when I've been stuck ..... something which happens far too often <sobs to self>!
