Still have any openings? I am interested in joining a corp.

ArnoldR is the screen name
Rischtown is the city

I haven't logged in a few days, sorry.
We filled the last spot.

But if you do a search from the join a corp, you should be able to find one. Don't worry about corps until you get a little bigger. It's nothing special when starting out, may hurt you.

If you have two farms, in a corp for team events, you may make spices. But it ties up your farms for 4 hours. Right now, you need coins and you can make more on your own.

Thank you fox and friends. I finished the Edem Plaza today. Thanks to your invaluable updates on wikia and here I would still be only half way through it.

Thank you all who contributed.

Is this a dead forum?

Seems the corporation has gotten watered down and lost its true meaning. Use to be on how much you produced for specific items both on personal plans as well as team goals. Ratings used to be based on your production capabilities which you spent a great deal of time building up to.

Now, every event gives out corporation points and you can even buy large amounts of points without having to produce anything. Basically, you can just buy your way into the ratings. Look at some of the teams moving up the ranks (or down) and its based almost solely on how much money they are willing to spend.

The ratings of the corporations are skewed and do not reflect the skill of the team or cities that make them up. Its become a useless stat to strive for or pay attention to. There is no real way anymore to measure the success of cities or corporations.
As a lot of people have stated, it’s all about spending money now. The spirit of playing is lost.

Hi

I'm struggling to obtain any lens fragments and pieces to make the parts necessary for producing modules. When I first started playing - a long time ago! - these were handed out by citizens who used to walk around my town. I haven't had any of those for over a year!!

Can anyone suggest what I should do? The meteorite challenge will be impossible if I can't make lenses & I'm wondering whether it's even worth trying.

Thanks.

This post deserves a response.
Yes, the current philosophy GI is using to dictate the playing field is one that requires little skill or achievement. Simply buy whatever you want. Buildings, corp points, etc. Now I'm not naïve, I understand that players spending cc(purchased with real money) is why GI developed the game. But GI used to strike a better balance between a player spending real money and a player acquiring stuff thru playing. Now days it's all about the spending. Which makes for a rather boring game. If this is what the game's future is to be, it would make more sense for me to go play video poker at the local casino, where I at least have a chance to win something back.

And yes, the Corporation, in it's current form is becoming pointless. You only need so many building brigades, and the items in the gift shop are horribly overpriced, and not that great. And being able to buy corp. points, rather than earn, further diminishes the enjoyment. The players on corps that get sucked into striving for the top ten positions pay insane amounts of money to be there. Constantly buying Superman Mega productions and any other speed-ups they can. I hope these people are making bank at their real jobs, because if they're not, the money would be better spent on their 401K or some other investment stock that pays a respectable dividend. Seriously. It's what GI is doing with the money you give them.

I completely agree with everything both of you gave said! While I too understand that GI are in it as a business and need to make money to pay developers, systems etc... but at what point do they stop jacking up the prices of everything? You have to find a happy median and leave it at that. It all goes back to price elasticity of demand and the whole price vs quantity (supply-demand) economics. At some point, the price is going to get so high that the quantity x price is going to end up being less than what they had at the lower prices. Sure there will always be players who will continue to pay the increased prices, but those are either people who have more money than they know what to do with, or just fools!

The most recent example is the leprechaun event. In the last (nessie etc...), the highest priced city credit boost used to cost 3cc. Now the lowest one costs 3! I fully admit that I purchased quite a few of the highest level ones when they were 3. In this event, I refuse to purchase a single one (even the lowest). I'll use what I get for free in game and leave it at that. Besides, the prizes we get from the chests aren't worth spending all that cash.

The other thing they are doing now is making these events such a stretch to accomplish without spending at least some cc, it is getting ridiculous! You are pretty much left with two options these days - 1. Play the game all day everyday; or 2. Spend cc to speed things up. Gone are the days when I could spend a few hours here and there and complete tasks with relative ease.

I won't even get into the whole daily contests, or corp events nonsense. It is evident that both are nothing more than a money making racket for GI - meant for those who are willing to spend real cash to get productions bonuses, or 'buy' corp points to move up in the rankings. I'm sorry ... I value my real world life, and hard earned money too much to squander away at some internet bad ass ranking. Especially with GI's inclination to ban people left, right, and center with no explanation or recourse as we are seeing currently with the port glitch that is created by GIs ineptness itself.

Now do I enjoy playing the game? Absolutely I do! Will I spend cash on it? I'm pretty sure I will. But it will be nothing more than what I can save by say giving up a bar night tab every now and then. I will just continue to play the game until GI's antics reach a point of inflection with my patience and enjoyment and will not think twice about walking away if/when it gets to that point.

Ok ... I'll get off my soap box now :)

Hi I haven't been on for while, been playing but not on here. Nothing was going on so I just kinda stopped looking but I see things are alive again yeah .

Anyways, you know that annoying little notice we are getting in corp comm about building of commercial ports? Over and over and over, Well, little ole techno kitty clicked late last night and realized what GIs problem is ( in this case)(I can't begin to completly diagnosis them!)

So, notice this next time your ship sets sail. Does that completed comm port notice come up. Or if someone tops out your ship and it goes.....

That is what it is doing in our comm corp window.

So I sent GI a note

In the corp window there has been a notice that pops up saying "name of city" successfully completed construction of Commercial Port!. Over and over for all my corp members. Well, it appears that when a ship sails from port it triggers in GI software this notice. The person has not actually completed the port over and over but it is a faulty notice (and annoying) to junk up our communication with this information not needed for the corps. Please kindly pass this onto tech support, maybe what I found can help narrow the error in the software.

They probably need a picture to understand but at least maybe this one will get fixed.

Now for the other ones.....

We get this non stop all day, every day for the Edem plaza hotel. I still get this message even though I already finished it. Some for the ports as well.

For the x points for everyday logins, wish they change it to a daily total once a day. Since I usualy get points for one of the daily tasks, and occasionally a corp cert, just send one msg a day with the total.

For anyone reading this from team Emmerdale.
Suggest current corp task probably needs to be abandoned, I for one do not have a clue what we are supposed to be producing. Hopefully this server problem goes away soon and we can recommence.
Have a good non Big Business day.

We have two openings in a corp if interested.

Corp: Big Blue Corp - Leader: ShowTime Currently around #58 on the leader board. It changes daily with the alien events.

Looking for a large and a mid-sized city. We have two players leaving the game due to general burnout and real life activities.

Corp is a casual but active, no pressure group. Mostly farms and ranches. Occasional paper and maybe dairy if our quota is not too high. We are for busy people with lives outside of the game and do not want to play 24x7, but still like to play the game without pressure to finish events.

Prefered:
One city with max farms and ranches
One city with atleast 8 farms and 6 ranches and willing to work on expanding them over the next several months..
Make about 10+ items per day during team event (if we are doing it)
Personal plans are optional, we rarely do them.
Contest events are optional
Spend $$ and CC's as you like. Its your city and not required.
Do not need to sell any CC factories !!

Thanks
