Not exactly. Apps that require an onboard camera do not work on an iPad1. But since the OP was talking about an iPad2, I am off topic.

So, I recommend a little app called AppStart. This app gives you an idea of the 10 apps 'everybody' should have...their opinion but it is a very helpful app in helping newusers figure out 'must have' apps to take full advantage of the iPad.

Thanks for the advice on AppStart. I'm always looking for new apps to improve my productivity and others for entertainment. I highly recommend Zite though great magazine like app that is free and has a great UI

imo.im (best and the baddest multi-protocl instant messenger)

imdb app (all those trailers)
skype (cant live without it unfortunately)
NASA app (yes i am into astronomy)
Pixlromatic (awesome photo effects AWESOME)
flex: Player (Best free all video format player)

Games:
Unblock Me
Fruit Ninja HD
Fruit Ninja Puss in Boots
FlightCTRL HD (bloody good game)
Cut the rope
Ninjump HD
PushCars HD (another brilliant game)
Asphalt 6 ($.99 in black Friday sale haha)
Bullet Time (i challenge everyone to find a better FREE game than this)
