How do I get documents off a flash drive and add to an e-mail I'm sending? (New here so appreciate all the help I can get!)
Thanks.....
It is not possible to transfer documents directly from a flash drive to an iPad for two reasons. First of all, the USB interface on the iPad does not have the current capability of normal USB ports. A regular PC USB port can supply 500 mA, whereas the iPad port can supply only 10 mA, which is insufficient to power most flash drives.
The second issue is that the iPad USB camera connection kit, which can support SD memory cards, will only allow the import of photo and video files - but no other types of documents.
Therefore the only way to transfer documents from a flash drive to the iPad is to copy them to a PC and then transfer them from the PC to the iPad. Most members use a program called GoodReader to do this, as it can transfer any type of file from a PC, either over a USB interface to the PC or via WiFi.
So, to summarise, it's unfortunately not possible to directly transfer documents from a flash drive to an iPad.
