Downloaded this app when it went on sale for the weekend at $4.99. Essentially it's a comprehensive coffee table art book with works from over 1000 artists and 40,000 works covering about 2000 years of artistic endeavors. Add to this the ability to search, create slide shows, and save selected works of art.

The paintings/sculptures are beautiful on the iPad. Individual works can be saved as favorites, exported to the camera roll for use as screen backgrounds, and shared. Links to Wikipedia provide background on individual artists and works of art.

All in all, if you're an art lover it's a great app. And if you're looking for an app to introduce kids to the world of art, it's a treasure.
