Dear IPadders.....

I bought this IPad One not knowing why. First thing I noticed was there was no wprd processing program. So i bought quick office. Next.....disappointment and no small gre: I have not been able to print documents.

Can anyone please offer advice on if and how I can get what seems to be a machine of questionable utility?

I have a Brother 2170W wireless capable printer. I have used several applications. I woulday for an application that works.

So, don't know if I can print with this printer, don't know what software to use, and might not without a degree of frustration be able to configure this thing.

Mostly this IPad sits and collects dust. So does my IPod. I do however use my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and my Thinkpad.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sam,

Welcome to the Forum!

First off, none of the iPads comes with word processing programs. You have to obtain those through the Apple AppStore either by paying or utilizing free apps. Personally, I use Pages which cost me $9.99 and also use Evernote which is free. Both work very well.

Secondly--is your iPad updated to it current version? I believe the most current version is 5.1.1. You can verify this by going to settings/general/about/version.

Have a look at this link from Apple regarding air printer compatibility. Looking at this list, it does not include your printer when I quickly glance at it. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356

When this is the issue, most members will use Apps such as Fingerprint or other related apps....

Have a look at this: http://www.ipadforums.net/airprint/38017-wi-fi-printing-ipad.html

Finally, please take a moment to read the forum rules: http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html
