My new and upgraded apps are frozen in the "waiting" stage. What's up?

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

What OS is your iPad on? Have a look in Settings - General - About and look for Version, we are currently on 5.1.1. Apps also get updated when the iPad does and if you haven't updated your iPad some apps will not update for this reason.

Another reason could be if you have recently downloaded anything from the iTunes app? If you have, have a look in iTunes to see if anything is still pending. If there is just swipe it to bring up the Delete tab and delete and your apps should now download.

If not either of the above give your iPad a reset. A reset in this instance will not change anything on your iPad and is akin to rebooting a pc.
Reset - Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know how you go.

Hi, I've done all of above, but will check with upgrade. I have uploaded recently, but again will check and see about 5.1.1. Thanks.

Checked my settings and I'm all up to date. I'm very confused. They are still in waiting stage after all your suggestions.

This is a stubborn one....you can update these apps on your pc/Mac if all else fails.

Can you delete the apps and then do a reinstall of them?

I also found this piece of info in this thread, the post by cstorm

Let us know if any of this fixes your issue.

This was it. Didn't understand at first but my very smart husband read and followed your instruction. Love you both. Thanks :D:D
