Besides the HBO Now & Apple TV team-up, the other big surprise of the Apple event was that Apple has added something new to the Apple Watch. The device can actually make and receive phone calls too! The watch syncs up with your iPhone and can be used to answer incoming phone calls or to even make them.

We already knew that. No surprise. Though Tim did emphasis it by cracking a joke at the event.

However we didn't know that the watch would use wi-fi (instead of Bluetooth) when you are on your home network. That means you can be further than 40 feet away (the Bluetooth limit) when answering calls on your watch at home. Handy if the iPhone is in the other room charging.
