I visited an Apple store yesterday and was struck by the number of posseurs working there. A number of the males seemed to think they were on the catwalk rather than in a SHOP. Various hats, flat caps, scarves, heavy jewellery etc, etc.

One guy looked a total cockhead!

Maybe it's me and I'm getting old and grumpy?!

Fortunately, not yet. Still some urban sprawl to go.

Is the stuff us "Yanks" talk about as confusing to you as this post is to me?

Yes. :D

London = big city types
Milton Keynes = used to be lots of little villages, then turned into new urban sprawl in the 60's & 70's - now it's soulless surburbia...
The Provinces = anything more than 60 miles from London. Also known as "the country" and "that place eggs come from" to big city types.
;)

Hope that helps!

We won't get into Cockney rhyming slang.

Well they say if we hadn't won that little skirmish in 1776, we'd all be speaking English on this side of the pond!
