The above image is just an artist's concept image found randomly on the web.

Here's some very exciting news, hot off the presses. According to the Wall Street Journal, the rumored electric Apple Car will probably be ready by 2019. Here's a quote from their article with the details,

Supposedly, Apple spent more than a year researching the market feasibility of an Apple branded electric car project. After deciding to move forward, Apple execs will likely triple the 600-person team devoted to the car. What do you folks think? Is Apple still hitting all the right notes, or are they stretching themselves a bit thin?

That car will be so damned locked down like iOS... you'll have to jailbreak it in order to put on non-Apple tires. God forbid you need to change a headlight.

I can imaging putting a set of GoodYear tires on it...you won't be able to drive because you'll get an error message "This accessory may not be supported, please connect to iTunes".

And, the car will only be drivable for a few years before the iCarOS is outdated and lagging.

In all seriousness tho, this might be cool. Depends on the range and cost. That little Apple on the hood will jack the price up...

    I'm hoping it's self driving.
