Apple has acted to plug the PDF security hole in the iPad and iPhone 4, today issuing iOS 3.2.2 for iPad and iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone 4. As Engadget reports, the sole purpose of the update is to fix the PDF exploit vulnerability, or as Apple puts it, the update “fixes security vulnerability associated with viewing malicious PDF filesâ€. Unfortunately for those jailbreakers out there, the main side-effect of the new update is that anyone installing the update will no longer be able to use the JailBreakMe.com method to jailbreak their iPad or iPhone 4, as the JailBreakMe.com method and the malicious PDF code hack used the same security hole to access your device, in fact, the discovery of the security hole was actually as a result of JailBreakMe being released. Don’t fret though, jailbreakers, I’m sure they’re working on a new way to jailbreak your iPad and iPhone as we speak!

now I don't really understand all of this stuff but the guy who did jailbreakme has released the coding to the public which means more hacking and security risks.

In turn it means Apple will need to provide more updates and therefore will basically mean people who have JB their apple products will be better off using Apple official updates instead of waiting for the JB ones.

I may have this all completely wrong of course. Read it all here.

It sounds like that you are one who has already jailbroke your pad you do not want to do the update as it will undo the JB and for now at least keep you from JB'ing. Is this correct?

Thanks for this information. The iOS and iPad up-date has been delayed. The delay is due to some software program bugs making iOS 4.2 difficult to connect with Wi-Fi. Apple zealots will just have to deal with it if they can't live without the update, as it's scheduled to release around Thanksgiving. All those who took out a payday loans.
