The month of October is upon us, which means Apple is set to unveil the new iPads. But besides this big event, we're also waiting for some iOS 8 bugs to be fixed, and the Apple Pay service to become fully operational. And, if a recent report is anything to go by, this could happen in the same time.

Bank Innovation website claims that according to “multiple sources close to Apple,” the mobile payment service is scheduled to launch on October 20, alongside iOS 8.1. Apple released recently the first beta of iOS 8.1 to developers, and hidden settings were hinting towards Apple Pay integration.

Bank Innovation says the code is there because Apple is testing Apple Pay before the official launch. As a reminder, Apple Pay will allow iDevice owners to pay for goods and services both online and in physical stores using their handsets. Here are some more details from the original report:

Based on multiple sources close to Apple, Bank Innovation has learned that iOS 8.1 will include Apple Pay, and the current expected timetable for the public release is schedule for October 20.

Similarly, multiple sources close to Apple — as well as MacRumors — report that iOS 8.1 contains hidden code that will allow Apple to “test” Apple Pay with the private beta release of iOS 8.1, as Bank Innovation has previously reported.

The publication also said that Apple makes massive security advances in the payments field. So, if this rumor, along many previous one makes any sense, then ApplePay should get launched along with the new iPads.
