According to brand consulting agency Brand Finance’s “Billion Dollar Brands†list, Apple has been named the most valuable ‘billion dollar brand’ in U.S. Apple’s brand has been said to be worth $104.6 billion, way ahead Google’s $68.6 billion valuation on the second place, say the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Thus, Apple was the only brand to have surpassed the $100 billion mark.
Tech companies took five of the top ten spots, with Microsoft on the third place, GE in fifth and Amazon.com in seventh. According to the report, the technology sector dominated the list and accounted for 23 percent of the total. The top 50 companies include such names as Intel, Cisco, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, eBay, Facebook, PayPal and Yahoo. In the United States, California was the first state by brand value with its companies generating a total of $484 billion.
To portray a better image of Apple’s brand value, you should that it is more than the total cost of the Apollo Space Program in today’s dollars. Some recent reports have also revealed that Apple earns $325,000 every minute, so it’s obvious that Cupertino doesn’t have to worry about money for the time being.
