I have had no trouble downloading apps until yesterday - I have the Ipad 4 - the message says "your account is not valid for use in the US store - you must switch to the Canadian store before purchasing". - what the hell dies that mean??

Do you have two accounts: one for the US and one for Canada? Are you accessing the US appstore and trying to make a purchase with your Canadian itunes account?

You need to have a US account in order to make purchases in the US App Store.

Go to settings - App Store - view Apple ID - enter Username/password - Change country or region - select country - press done.

This should take you back to the Canadian App Store if you need get back.

Go to the bottom of the App Store's Featured tab (and/or iTunes Store) and tap on your Apple ID. Sign out. Tap on where it now says Sign In, and sign in again with the correct Apple ID.

Sometimes the stores get confused, and this helps.

Doing the same thing where Skimonkey suggested may do the same, for all the stores. I'm not sure. My method requires doing it for each individual store: iTunes, Apps, iBooks, etc.

ok, I guess I am not understanding fully your question.

Have you been using the US Appstore before having his problem?

If so, then you must have a US iTunes account-yes? No?

Since I only have one account, which is US account-that's all I use.

Need further info.
