A new rumor in the mill that surfaced back in May calls for a 12.9-inch iPad allegedly in production. The rumor was first thrown out by ETNews and then considered pretty odd. According to the rumor, Apple is not willing to stop at a 9.7-inch iPad as the largest model.
Via United Daily News:
“Quanta notebook shipments by 2014 fear continues to decline, coupled with major customers Apple notebook shipments next year will decline, even two days to sell off foreign Dada ten thousand wide. But the market also reported, Quanta is working with Apple to develop large-size 12-inch iPad.â€
Quanta is normally Apple's go-to company for building the MacBook Air line, which is strange that the company would look to produce a tablet. The report does mention that Quanta is looking to diversify its products, which could potentially lead to producing large tablets for Apple. Though the larger tablets aren't rumored to debut until Q1 or Q2 of next year, Apple is currently set to unveil the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2nd generation in October.
