I am not new to iPad but on my relatively new iPad2 I am getting a message about not having backed up for 3 weeks & that I need to plug in, lock and do something( can't remember what!) with WiFi. all this comes under an iCloud
heading.
I thought the big black iCloud did all the business of syncing & backing up. Am I wrong? Any advice or info very welcome.
Kind regards
Annie S

Go into Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup> and check that iCloud Backup is switched on. Then hit Back Up Now and you will have your first backup saved to the iCloud.

Edit: It can take a long time depending on the amount of stuff on your iPad.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly
I did as you suggested and in Settings>ICloud>Back up, 09.18 was recorded as the time of last auto back up. I hit back up now & it whirred away & recorded the time of back up as 15.46. This should mean all is well BUT I did get the irritating message after 09.18 today
I'll come back if I get the mystery message again.
Thanks again
