4.3 Beta Release by Apple

When I did that I got an error 1015 and recovery mode made it stop.
I went to the beta release again and hoping to find my udid number to register again so that I can use my ipad.

My iphone 4 upgraded easily.

What did you mean by "hoping to find my udid number to register again?"

Did you register it already? You can find your UDID easy enough through System Profiler--even if iTunes won't show it.

Does Steve's medical leave play into the return of the Rotation Lock? With him not at the helm are we likely to see a loosening of the Apple grip on what we are allowed to do with our devices?

I can't really share the actual beta firmware, but can prolly register your UDID.

However, without being able to register your iPad as a developer device though Xcode means you won't have the new multi-touch gestures. So it might not be worth it.

Is there any indication the 4.3 is going to correct the problem that so many users have had with 4.2 and the intermittent Wi-fi connectivity problem? I would love to upgrade to 4.2 but keep reading too many horror stories about how well someone's internet connection was working before upgrading to 4.2

I couldn't tell you--I have never had WiFi issues with any firmware version... including 4.3 now.
