I think the iOS device is safe in regards of magnets. There is some pretty good magnets in the smart cover and that doesn't hurt it.
Magnets are internal on the iPad and on the ZAGGfolio I'll try to post some pictures later on today of the ZAGGfolio and where the magnets are....

Magnets only erase magnetic media. There are very strong rare earth magnets in hard drives.
The drives in the iPad are like giant flash drives....
