No, when using the CloudFTP device you are on a network created by the device.
You can do this with a device called CloudFTP, check it out here http://www.hypershop.com/CloudFTP-p/cftp-black.htm
It would be possible by mapping the drive attached to the CloudFtp device on your PC.

I don't have one yet, I live in the UK too, I googled CloudFTP+uk and got a few sites that appear to stock it.
I am using the 8player app with CloudFTP and it's working fine. I can easily view photos, listen to music albums (nice not to have to play one song...
Hyperdrive are the company that makes it so if you google CloudFTP+hyperdrive you'll find it. Have a look at this thread as it may give you a little...
I can't help you with the GoFlex but this thread about CloudFTP (now called the iUSBport) might be useful...

You need something like a CloudFTP setup to use a USB like that on an iPad. You won't get much flexibility with a CCK unless your iPad is jailbroken.
Get yourself a CloudFTP device then you can load all your stuff on any USB drive. I used one on vacation, worked like charm.

As an update, I charged up the CloudFTP and used it this morning with it powering the WD Passport......and it lasted 6 hours. So I'm impressed with...
