Looking for simple video editor

I've done the obligatory searches but haven't come across anything on this specific question.

I'm looking for a simple video editor that will edit the original video file, unlike Pinnacle (which I have) which require creation of project,importing, exporting, etc. All I'm looking to do is cut down the length of video files I import from my camera. No fancy stuff. That I'll leave for Pinnacle.

Apps like Pinnacle do not edit the original, thus you end up creating a second version, and taking up more space.

Does that make sense?

If I recall, you can trim videos within the camera roll. You get to choose whether to save over the file or save as new file.

These videos were imported from my camera via cable, not taken with the ipads camera so they are not in camera roll. They're just in the pictures section & imported folder. When i open them, I do not see an editing option; only move & delete. How can I move them to camera roll?

OK, figued it out, sort of. Created a new album, moved the videos to that album, then I got the trim option. Unfortunately it does give me the option to edit the original, only to save as new.

It's also very slow. Trimming 3 sec off the beginning of a 9 sec clip takes forever. started over a minute ago and I'm still waiting. It's saying "Trimming video" at the bottom of the screen. I'm starting to think it's locked up.
