help with Docs to Go

I work in the industry of window treatments and would like to use my ipad professionally. I am a beginner at using a mac tool. I was successful at downloading the app as well as the corresponding desktop app. After syncing my desktop and ipad, I tried adding a folder, just as a test. I hit sync, but could not find the added folder on my ipad. What am I missing here?
