I would not recommend free apps for this as they are usually hit or miss. It is worthwhile paying for something like Quickoffice Pro HD or one of the other premium apps, even Pages.

Hiii..thanks for the info. I am concentrating on excel documents
I heard a rumor that Microsoft is currently working on an Office suite for the iPad. Anyone know if this is true? ETA?
My hunch is we will have to wait and see if Windows tablets are successful. They will ship with either Office built in or at least available. MS may decide to withhold Office from the iPad in order to give their own tablets a fighting chance. If the Surface crashes in flames, we could see Office on the iPad yet.Originally Posted by pcs

I use SmartOffice 2, mostly use excel. I got it when it was offered here for free.
I just read reviews of Cloudon and OnLive Desktop. They both look pretty good. I'm going to try them while I wait for Office on iPad. While there is nothing official yet, there are rumblings ( PC mag) of a possible November launch. Although previous comment re: MS supporting their own tablet first is sound reasoning.
