Best app for incorporating photos into documents

I often need to do site visits of over 90 homes my agency manages. I take photos to show the supervisors the types of corrective actions that need to be taken so I have text and photos. I tried using pages but the photos flew all over the place and my text moved around. It was actually easier for me to email one photo at a time to myself and create a document from my desktop using Word. I know there has to be a better way! Please advise. Thank you

I'm using an app called FormConnect that allows me to incorporate both text and photographs into my onsite inspections.

I'm in favor of Evernote too. Add Skitch so that you can easily markup the photos, and it should provide an excellent solution. You'll probably want to experiment a bit to find the best combination of titles, notebooks, stacks, and tags to keep your stuff organized.

Don't expect to get it all in a moment. It's a deceptively powerful tool. I've had it for over a year, and I'm still finding better ways to use it.

Once created you can email a note directly to your supervisor, or if you can talk him/her into getting an Evernote account, you can just share the notebook so that they are always up to date. And you can access Evernote on pretty much any device or computer that exists.

Try the free account. If you find it works, then you'll probably need to upgrade to the paid account to cope with the volume of pictures involved. But at $5 or less a month, I think you'll find it worth the connivence and flexibility.

    About Pages:

A little advice about Pages. After you add the picture, select it, tap the paint brush icon, and go tot he Arrange tab. Tap Wrap, and turn off Move with Text. Your picture will then stay where ever on the page you put it. There are several other things you can change here as well.

Once you have the picture exactly how you want it, you can Lock it against further changes. The Lock option only turns up after you turn off Move with Text.

Personally, I wish Move With Text was off by default, but I'm sure there are others that want the pictures to move with the text.

You can treat text the same way. All you have to do is add a text box via the Media icon (+) and then, like the picture, turn off Move with Text for that box. Now you can drag and leave text anywhere you want on the page.

Thank you so much! I played around with Evernote yesterday and I see how that might do the trick. I'll also try the formconnect app. Didn't know that about Pages! I knew how I could insert text boxes but didnt know how to lock. This forum rocks! So helpful. It's pretty sad that we got 40 iPads at work and I'm the one who knows the most...lol...they all just use theirs for email.

Be careful, or you'll end up as the go-to guy for iPads.
