If you have a card reader, remove the memory card and insert the card in the card reader. It's easier for you computer to read photos from a card reader.

I use the original Apple Camera Connection Kit with my new iPad 3. Importing Fotos via USB connection works well using my Cameras Canon SX 210 and Canon HF10 (HD video camcorder).Importing Videos from SX 210 works well, but it seems not possible to import Videos from the HF10.

Who has an idea what to do ??? The video format of the HF10 should be compatible (Mpeg-4 / H264). What might be the reason ??

To import AVCHD .mts footage to iPad for watching only:

    1. Transfer the .mts/.m2ts footage to your computer first.
    2. Use iPad Video Converter to convert AVCHD footage to iPad supported format.
    3. Add those conversions to iTunes movie library.
    4. Sync converted footage to iPad via iTunes.

To import AVCHD .mts footage to iPad for editing in iMovie:

    1. Transfer the .mts/.m2ts footage to your computer first.
    2. Use iPad Video Converter to convert AVCHD footage to iPad supported format.
    3. Rename those conversions to with filenames exactly 8 characters long plus their file extension, e.g. 12345678.mp4
    4. Create a DCIM directory off the SD card's root.
    5. Copy those conversions back to the DCIM directory of the SD card.
    6. Insert the SD card to iPad Camera Connection Kit, and connect the kit to iPad.
    7. Now your videos will be detected by iPad automatically, select the footage that you’d like to copy to iPad and then tap Import Selected Videos button.
