Hello - first, welcome to the forum!
Second, I'm assuming that you are trying to update through the Apple App - correct? And if so, the updates are not working?
Try to restart and/or reset the iPad - Directions HERE - I know that you have tried this but follow the steps exactly - if these steps do not work, then please respond back to this thread - good luck!

It may also be a glitch with the App Store, I tried to update 2 apps yesterday morning and had exactly the same problem. I waited a few hours, went back and they updated fine......I'm guessing sometimes the servers get overloaded with downloaders/updaters.

I thought it was just me. For the past couple of days when i try to download update or apps, i enter my itunes password it exits
The apps store and the apps shows up with progress bar. Then it stop and a error 1004 prompt shows up. Anyone knows what this means.

Nope, you guys are not alone. The store was down, I'm sure of it but when I asked nobody confirmed. I had the same problem.
IPad 3 32GB wifi, 2x iphone 4, iPhone 3GS 32GB , ipad 1 32GB ,2x iPod touch 2G, BT keyboard

Do you also get the same error 1004 code?
